What is it with you people and your d**n robocalls?
Do you really believe anyone who picks up the phone and hears “please do not hang up…” is going to do anything but hang up right at that very moment?
It’s a serious clue, that rude and stupid opening line. *Maybe* you have a serious call. Maybe… but in this day when too many calls (according to recent FCC postings, 47% of ALL phone calls) are robocalls, fakers and takers, what do you expect?
If it’s REALLY an important and legitimate phone call, then put a PERSON on the line. If you can’t afford that, then the message just isn’t that important.
Also, if it’s really important, do not have call-center noises in the background. That also is a clue that the call is not real.
- “Do not hang up”, or
- call-center noises in the background, or
- One to three seconds delay before a person comes on to the line after I say “hello”
If you really want to find a Sucker to Fleece then you want to eliminate all of those clues and probably six more besides. But why am I giving you advice? Actually I’m not — those are clues for people who don’t want your phone call… So… Guys — keep those clues! Thank you for making it obvious that your a Faker and Taker selling Snake Oil.
